Data protection

Data protection policy

Data protection is a matter of trust and to earn and keep your trust is important to us. We respect your private and personal spheres. The protection and the lawful collection, processing and use of your personal data are therefore important concerns for us. So that you feel safe when visiting our websites, we strictly observe the legal provisions when processing your personal data and wish to take this opportunity to inform you about our data collection and data use.

Collection, use and processing of personal data

We only collect data for individual-related processing and use if you voluntarily decide to enter the data or expressly give your consent. In such cases, you thereby accept the following terms of use.

When you visit our website, certain data is automatically stored on our servers for system administration, statistical or security purposes. This data includes the name of your internet service provider, possibly your IP address, the version of your browser software, the operating system of the computer used to access it, the website from which you visit us, the webpages you visit on our site and any search terms you used to find our website. This data may allow conclusions to be drawn about a specific visitor to the website. However, personal data will not be commercially exploited in this context. Such data is only used anonymously.

If you provide us with personal data of your own accord, we will not use, process or pass on this data beyond the scope permitted by law or beyond the scope specified by you in a declaration of consent. Insofar as we use the services of third parties to carry out and handle processing, the provisions of the German Federal Data Protection Act (“BDSG”) are observed.

In addition, we only pass on your data if we are obliged to do so by law, or by official or court orders.

In the event of a credit risk (name, address, e-mail address, information about the company and, if applicable, contract and claim data), we will transmit your data to the IHD Gesellschaft für Kredit und Forderungsmanagement mbH, Augustinusstr. 11 B, 50226 Frechen, and possibly to other cooperating credit agencies. The legal basis for this transmission is Art 6 I b GDPR and Art 6 I f GDPR. Data transmissions on the basis of Art 6 I f GDPR may only take place if this is necessary to protect the legitimate interests of our company and does not outweigh the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the person concerned, which require the protection of personal data.

Your rights

Changes to our “Privacy Policy” will be posted on this page. In this way, you can find out at any time what data we store and how we collect and use it.

It goes without saying that you are also entitled at any time to revoke your consent to the use and processing of personal data with effect for the future.  In this case, please contact the following address:

Duration of personal data retention

Personal data that has been communicated to us via our website will only be stored until the purpose for which it was entrusted to us has been fulfilled. Insofar as commercial and tax law retention periods have to be observed, the duration of the storage of certain data can be up to 10 years.

Consent manager

Cookies are datasets that are sent from the web server to the user’s web browser and stored there for later retrieval. You can decide for yourself whether cookies can be collected by setting your browser so that you are informed before a cookie is saved and it is only saved if you expressly accept this.

We only use cookies for the purpose of obtaining information about the use of our website and for statistical purposes.

Use of cookies

Our website uses consentmanager AB’s cookie consent technology to obtain your consent to the storage of certain cookies in your browser and to document this in compliance with data protection regulations. The service provider is the German company Händlerbund Management AG, Torgauer Str. 233, ArcusPark / Haus B, 04347 Leipzig, Germany

When you enter our website, a consentmanager cookie is saved in your browser, in which the consent you have given or the revocation of this consent is stored. This data is passed on to the provider of consentmanager.

The data collected will be stored until you request us to delete it or delete the consentmanager cookie yourself or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies. The above is without prejudice to mandatory statutory retention periods. Details on data processing by the consentmanager cookie can be found at

https://www.haendlerbund.de/de/datenschutzerklaerung.

Consent management technology is used to obtain the legally required consent for the use of cookies. The legal basis for this is Article 6 I c GDPR.

Data protection declaration for the use of Facebook plugins (“like button”)

Plugins from the social network Facebook (Facebook Inc., 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, California, 94025, USA) are integrated in our website. You can recognize the Facebook plugins by the Facebook logo or the “like button” on our site. An overview of the Facebook plugins can be found here: developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/.

When you visit our pages, a direct connection is established between your browser and the Facebook server via the plugin. Facebook receives the information that you have visited our site with your IP address. If you click the Facebook “like button” while you are logged into your Facebook account, you can link the content of our pages to your Facebook profile. This allows Facebook to link your visit to our site with your user account. We would like to point out that we, as the provider of the pages, have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or how it is used by Facebook. You can find more information on this in Facebook’s privacy policy at de-de.facebook.com/policy.php

If you do not want Facebook to be able to link your visit to our site with your Facebook user account, please log out of your Facebook user account.

Google DoubleClick

We also use the Google DoubleClick tool on our website. This is also an offer from Google. Cookies are used to present advertisements that are relevant to you, improve campaign performance reporting, or prevent you from seeing the same advertisements more than once. For this purpose, your browser is assigned a so-called pseudonymous identification number (ID) in order to check which advertisements are displayed in your browser and which advertisements were viewed. Using the ID, DoubleClick can record so-called conversions that are related to ad requests. According to Google, the cookies do not contain any personal information.

The cookies are transferred by Google to a server in the USA for evaluation and stored there. We have no influence whatsoever on the scope and how the data is further used. By integrating Google DoubleClick, Google receives information that you have accessed the relevant part of our website or clicked on an ad. If you are registered with Google, your visit can be assigned by Google to your account. Even without registration, there is a possibility that the provider will find out and store your IP address.

By setting your browser software accordingly, cookies can be prevented from being stored. Due to a lack of storage, it may not be possible to use all functions of our website to their full extent. You can use appropriate settings to prevent Google from processing the relevant data in the ad preferences manager https://myadcenter.google.com/home?sasb=true&ref=ad-settings. You can find Google's data protection declaration here https://policies.google.com/ privacy?hl=de.

In addition, we refer to the Data Privacy Agreement. You can find a list of participating companies here: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/list

Data protection declaration for the use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. If IP anonymisation is activated on this website, however, your IP address will be shortened beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area.

Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

You can prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out to you that in this case you will if applicable not be able to use all functions of this website in full. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

Google Tag Manager

This website uses the Google Tag Manager. This tool does not use cookies and does not collect any personal data. The sole function of the tool is to implement tags. The Google Tag Manager triggers other tags, which then collect data, but this data is not used by the Google Tag Manager either. If cookies have been deactivated, this will be taken into account for all tracking tags used with the Google Tag Manager.

Google Consent Mode

We attach great importance to data protection, which is why we use Google Consent Mode on our website. The Google Consent Mode is implemented in the Consent Manager and, according to Google, no personal data will be sent without consent.

Google remarketing technology

This website uses the remarketing technology of Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”). This means that users who have already visited our website and are interested in the offer are addressed again through targeted advertising on the pages of the Google advertising network. The display of advertisement is activated by cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored on the user’s computer. With the help of the text files, user behaviour on the website can be analysed and then used for targeted product recommendations and interest-based advertising.

If you do not wish to receive interest-based advertising, you can disable Google’s use of cookies for these purposes by visiting the page www.google.de/settings/ads .

Data protection policy for the use of Google +1

Collection and disclosure of information:
You can use the Google +1 button to publish information worldwide. You and other users receive personalised content from Google and our partners via the Google +1 button. Google stores both that you have +1’d some content and also the page you were viewing when you clicked +1. Your +1’s can be displayed along with your profile name and photo in Google services, such as in search results or in your Google profile, or in other places on websites and advertisements on the internet.

Google records information about your +1 activities in order to improve Google services for you and others. In order to use the Google +1 button, you need a globally visible, public Google profile that must contain at least the name chosen for the profile. This name is used for all Google services. In some cases, this name can also replace another name that you used when sharing content via your Google account. The identity of your Google profile can be displayed to users who know your email address or have other identifying information about you.

Statistical evaluations with Matomo

This website uses Matomo, an open source software for the statistical analysis of user visits. Matomo uses cookies that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is stored on the provider’s server in Germany. The IP address is anonymised immediately after processing and before it is stored. You can prevent the installation of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out to you that in this case you will possibly not be able to use all functions of this website in full.

Tracking is currently not active for you because your browser has informed us that you do not wish to be tracked. This is a browser setting. To reactivate tracking, you must deactivate the “Do Not Track” setting in your browser settings.

Important: If you delete your cookies, your opt-out cookie will also be deleted and you will be logged by Matomo again. In this case, you must again submit an objection so as to be excluded from the web analysis.

Our social media appearances

Data processing through social networks

We maintain publicly available profiles in social networks. The individual social networks we use can be found below.

Social networks such as Facebook, X etc. can generally analyze your user behavior comprehensively if you visit their website or a website with integrated social media content (e.g., like buttons or banner ads). When you visit our social media pages, numerous data protection-relevant processing operations are triggered. In detail:

If you are logged in to your social media account and visit our social media page, the operator of the social media portal can assign this visit to your user account. Under certain circumstances, your personal data may also be recorded if you are not logged in or do not have an account with the respective social media portal. In this case, this data is collected, for example, via cookies stored on your device or by recording your IP address.

Using the data collected in this way, the operators of the social media portals can create user profiles in which their preferences and interests are stored. This way you can see interest-based advertising inside and outside of your social media presence. If you have an account with the social network, interest-based advertising can be displayed on any device you are logged in to or have logged in to.

Please also note that we cannot retrace all processing operations on the social media portals. Depending on the provider, additional processing operations may therefore be carried out by the operators of the social media portals. Details can be found in the terms of use and privacy policy of the respective social media portals.

Legal basis

Our social media appearances should ensure the widest possible presence on the Internet. This is a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. The analysis processes initiated by the social networks may be based on divergent legal bases to be specified by the operators of the social networks (e.g., consent within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).

Responsibility and assertion of rights

If you visit one of our social media sites (e.g., Facebook), we, together with the operator of the social media platform, are responsible for the data processing operations triggered during this visit. You can in principle protect your rights (information, correction, deletion, limitation of processing, data portability and complaint) vis-à-vis us as well as vis-à-vis the operator of the respective social media portal (e.g., Facebook).

Please note that despite the shared responsibility with the social media portal operators, we do not have full influence on the data processing operations of the social media portals. Our options are determined by the company policy of the respective provider.

Storage time

The data collected directly from us via the social media presence will be deleted from our systems as soon as you ask us to delete it, you revoke your consent to the storage or the purpose for the data storage lapses. Stored cookies remain on your device until you delete them. Mandatory statutory provisions - in particular, retention periods - remain unaffected.

We have no control over the storage duration of your data that are stored by the social network operators for their own purposes. For details, please contact the social network operators directly (e.g., in their privacy policy, see below).

Your rights

You have the right to receive information about the origin, recipient and purpose of your stored personal data at any time and free of charge. You also have the right to object, the right to data portability and the right to file a complaint with the responsible regulatory agency. Furthermore, you can request the correction, blocking, deletion and, under certain circumstances, the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
